Being a Big Loser..Week 3-4

BUMMER WEEK.

Not that it wasn't expected, I didn't eat well this week or have motivation of any time to go work out.

So I'm only down half a pound.

UGH.

I did a 30 minute Zumba workout last night as payback to my body for not getting smaller and lighter (haha.)

At least I didn't go up like I thought I might...

This week has just been extra hectic.

We put a bid on the house Friday, they countered, and we took the counter offer.

Monday, we had a termite and home inspection.

So after work Monday we flew down to Arnold to drop off our financial paperwork at the mortgage company and catch the second half of the inspection.

We now know that house like the back of our own hand.

The inspector was VERY thorough, to the point where I came DANGEROUSLY close to having a panic attack about all the things he brought up.

But then I calmed down when we got a copy of the report and most of the things he pointed out were minor fixes.

And the few things that are bigger, we are waiting to hear if the seller will fix.

Home buying is just as exhausting as it is exciting...and we haven't even started to pack yet!

One Month and One Day!

WE HAVE A CONTRACT ON A HOUSE!!

We will be homeowners in one month and one day!

(Well, as long as everything goes smoothly, which it should!)

And hopefully we will be moving in one month and nine days!

We have a LOT to pack and do before then!

My excitement for our home is slightly overshadowed by the idea of packing, moving, and setting up a home all while holding down a 45 hour per week job.

But its just slightly over shadowed.

I am having SO much fun on Pinterest finding ideas for our new home!

Not that anything needs to be done right away, just that I want to make a few changes that make it seem more like ours.

It will give me some projects to do while Chad launches his office approximately one week after we move.

Yikes.

An excited "yikes", but yikes all the same!

We are also preparing to be fur baby parents!

Chad is going to get me a dog!

Yesterday we went down the pet aisle at Sam's Club and I got WAY excited!

I have also been on petfinder.com looking at the dogs they have available for adoption.

My idea to adopt like 5 of my favorites is unfortunately not the wisest.

I just think they're so cute!

Anyways, it looks like our next few weeks will be filled with boxes, tape, and sharpies.

We are so blessed!!

Big Changes...and Anxiety!

What a big week for us!

I decided to cut off like 6 inches of hair....

And we toured and put an offer in on a home!

Look at how cute our first home is!

I AM SO EXCITED!!

Being a Big Loser...Week 2-3

I knew this whole challenge was going to come with ups and downs, and this is a "down" moment.

I only lost a pound this week.

Boo.

You know when you feel like you're trying so hard?

Yeah, that's me.

But as Chad put it when I told him my progress for this week,

"Its a marathon, not a sprint!"

And I agree.

But if I woke up tomorrow morning and another 5 pounds were magically gone, I would be totally cool with that.

I'm thankful for how supportive Chad is being throughout this process.

I truly don't know if I would stick with it if I didn't have my (manly) cheerleader!

In other news, last night we found a house.

And I want to buy it right now.

And apparently so do many other people, since it has been shown 17 times in the past 21 days.

Pray over this situation, friends.

Lots of changes are coming down the line, and we desperately want to follow where God leads!

Being a Big Loser…Week 1-2

In an effort to log progress and keep myself on track, I am making an attempt to blog it out.

At work, we are having a biggest loser competition and given the fact that I look slightly different than, say, when I got married, I decided to join.

The company is also giving away gas gift cards and vacation days as an extra incentive to the top 3 “losers”.
If that’s not enough motivation to join, I don’t know what is!

Our 3rd weigh in is tomorrow, but it is only the second one since we logged our starting weight.

Last week I tied for 4th place out of about 3 dozen employees.

I was so thrilled to read that number off the scale.

I lost 3.7%! (we do percent of weight lost rather than pounds to make it more fair.)

I am nervous every time I get on the scale.

It’s actually only at official weigh in time, since we don’t have a scale at home, but I hope I am making more progress.

2 good things that happened this week in healthy world:
1.       A coworker commented that I looked like I had lost weight (score!)
2.       I got Chad to try eating quinoa instead of rice and he didn’t hate it!

As far as my master plan to win (or at least place in top 3) is this:
Calorie Counting
Wise Food Choices
Portion Control
More Water
More Workouts

Those last two are the worst for me. This girl likes her Diet Coke…and to be lazy.

Hopefully after another 10 weeks when this is said and done it has become more of a lifestyle than just for the competition!

How many days until April 2? I’m craving pizza.

2014!

Happy 2014!

Instead of resolutions, we made goals!

They are a secret, although you could probably guess a few!

I guess you'll have to wait until next year to find out!

We made goals instead of resolutions, because they are something to work for, and you can see results.

After all, how many times am I going to promise myself that I am going to "Work out every day!"

Let's be real here.

I hate working out.

And I don't think I can handle 365 workouts in one year.

So here we go!

Check back for progress!
